expensive home

There are numerous ways to make your home look more expensive without breaking the bank such as adding throw blankets and scatter cushions to your sofa. Actually, the secret of attaining an expensive look for a home isn’t rooted in the amount you spent.

Being creative with available materials will give you the best results. Making a home look costly has several advantages. It allows you to live in a house that feels well-curated, and it’s a way to increase your house’s value if you want to resell. Here are some of the ways to make your home look and feel expensive.

Table of Contents

  • Add Mirrors to Maximize the Space
  • Update the Bathroom and Kitchen Hardware
  • Opt For Big Art Walls
  • The Scent
  • Add Lamp Shades
  • Endnote

Add Mirrors to Maximize the Space

Add a few trendy mirrors to increase your space without renovating. While the added space is just an optical illusion, hanging well-placed mirrors will make a space feel brighter and bigger because it reflects the lights that hit it. Hang the mirrors across from or near the windows to bounce enough light.

Additionally, mirrors can create a cheerful ambiance and improve the appeal of a house. You’ll find mirrors in both elegant and simple frames. Choose a blend of these and mount them strategically on the walls of your rooms.

Update the Bathroom and Kitchen Hardware

Bathrooms and kitchens will offer you the best return on investment if you plan to sell. However, if you want to give these places a luxurious look and feel for your enjoyment, a few upgrades will do the magic. Changes such as renovating your bathroom or kitchen hardware will make a significant impact. You can paint the bathroom dresser and update the hardware for a great difference.

Opt For Big Art Walls

Bigger art pieces command great attention and serve as a focal point. They appear like what you’d see in a real art gallery. For an expensive look, go for larger-scale art pieces instead of smaller ones. This also applies to the size of your wall if you are creating one. If you don’t have a budget for the costly art, consider wall plates as wall art. These are cost-effective things that can make your house look expensive. They come in different wall plates you can choose from.

The Scent

One best way to elevate your house that goes beyond just the feel and look of it is by inducing a good scent. If you’ve been in those fancy luxury home, you might have realized that most of them use subtle, beautiful, and costly-smelling fragrances in various spaces such as rooms and restrooms.

However, not all resorts and hotels opt to do this since some people are sensitive or fussy to smells. If you have issues with scent sensitivities, skip this tip. Nevertheless, appealing to all senses can help you create an integral, luxurious, and memorable experience. There are numerous ways to incorporate scent into your house:

  • Wax melt
  • Scented candles
  • Wall diffusers
  • Incense

Scented and flameless candles will fill the space with sweet aroma and improve the appeal of your home. They are available in various sizes, shapes, and designs to match different budgets and needs.

Add Lamp Shades

Lamp shades and lighting from companies like Kasala can make a room look appealing if installed correctly, as they will set a classy tone. You can put your lampshade on a floating shelf or the side of the table. If the shade is large enough, you can keep it next to a bed or sofa.

Endnote

Like most people, you might be unable to do all these upgrades simultaneously. If you are gradually upgrading your house, consider these tips and enjoy the entire process. They are functional, practical, and exciting ways to make your house look expensive.
