California has a lot to offer tourists and locals alike. If you are exploring this state, you can find mountains, beautiful beaches, and modern, cosmopolitan cities with high-end restaurants, sports arenas, and music venues. You might fall in love with it and want to move there.
You can find new homes in Tracy, CA, where you might live with your family. That’s one area that might appeal, but let’s talk about a few more that are worthy of your attention.

The Los Angeles Area
In Los Angeles, you can check out Santa Monica, where you are right next to the beautiful Pacific Ocean. You can pick up some souvenirs or get a new tattoo before rollerblading along the pier.
You should see Beverly Hills, where the celebrities live, and don’t miss Hollywood with the many stars along the Walk of Fame.
The San Diego Area
San Diego has some of the best weather in the world. Though it’s in the 80s most days, the wind coming off the water is refreshing. You can enjoy some gorgeous public parks, and there are many fresh seafood restaurants. You may prefer to catch a San Diego Padres game if they’re in town.
The Bay Area
Most Californians consider both San Francisco and Oakland to be part of the Bay Area. In San Francisco, you can see where the original hippy movement of the 1960s began.
There are amazing dim sum restaurants in Chinatown. You can also see buildings that house some of the country’s largest and most impressive tech companies, such as Twitter, lately rebranded as X.
The Desert
California is not all about the cities, though. If you want to get out in nature, you won’t have far to drive before you’re in the desert, a harsh landscape with cacti and animals that thrive, even in the arid conditions.
The whole southeastern corner of California is desert. Joshua Tree is an attraction, as is Death Valley. It is aptly named, though, so make sure your vehicle is in good working order before you try any exploring there.
If you drive through the desert, you can reach Palm Springs, which is like an oasis surrounded by a bleak and desolate landscape. You can stay in an elegant hotel and have a wine tasting at one of the many local vineyards.
The San Joaquin Valley
The San Joaquin Valley is another part of the state that should get your attention. There, you will find mile after mile of green farmland.
The land there is flat and punctuated by nature preserves that you can visit. You can hike in the foothills at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The air is clear, and you can see for miles.
You can visit Bakersfield and Fresno. The Fresno Art Museum is world-renowned, and the Kern Country Museum is worth a look as well.
No matter what part of California you visit, you should enjoy your time there and find plenty to occupy yourself and your family.
